A CiviCRM Case Study
United Methodist Communications needed a robust donor and constituent management platform to support its global Imagine No Malaria initiative and the Rethink Church event program after its commercial system proved inadequate. Facing a large, complex rollout on a tight timeline, UMCOM required easy reporting, seamless integration with existing systems (including Drupal), flexible online receipting, and scalable event management. They selected CiviCRM for its functionality, ease of use, and flexibility.
CiviCRM (implemented with BackOffice Thinking) provided a unified CRM and events solution—later expanded with CiviEvents and deep Drupal integration—enabling UMCOM to manage millions in pledges and donations and tens of thousands of contacts worldwide. The platform now supports thousands of events (including programs with over 1,000 events in a single day), portals for local and regional leaders, localization features, and improved reporting and receipting, demonstrating clear, measurable impact on fundraising and constituent engagement using CiviCRM.
