A CiviCRM Case Study
The Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS), a leading EU think tank, struggled to manage and email a rapidly growing contacts database (now about 50,000 contacts) while needing to send event registrations, follow-ups and publication notices. In 2011 IT Manager Radoslav Minkov evaluated CRMs and chose CiviCRM, specifically CiviMail, to gain better scheduling, segmentation and exclusion capabilities for targeted mass mailings.
By implementing CiviCRM (with data migration and training support from Cleverway), CEPS created groups and subgroups, scheduled mailings, and automated campaigns—replacing manual Access→Excel exports and constant error monitoring. The solution now handles roughly 150,000 emails/month (including a weekly 14,000-recipient bulletin) and has cut at least 32 hours of administrative time per month, improving delivery, targeting and operational efficiency with CiviCRM.
