Breaking down the data silos with the help of CiviCRM

The Denver Office of Strategic Partnerships, which connects the City of Denver with roughly 3,000 nonprofits and government agencies, was relying on fragmented Excel spreadsheets and needed a scalable, centralized system to coordinate staff work and contact lists. They selected CiviCRM because it is user-friendly, can grow with the organization, and integrates with their existing mailing tool, Constant Contact.

CiviCRM was implemented to provide contact management, event management, mailings, reports and online event registration, consolidating disparate lists into a single accessible database. As a result, CiviCRM helped break down information silos, gave all staff shared access to contacts and activities, and saved time and money on studies, mailings and surveys—enabling DOSP to manage its network of ~3,000 partners more efficiently (with initial data cleaning and adoption still in progress).
