Better case management for peer mentoring programme

Children North East runs the Youth Link peer-mentor programme supporting disadvantaged children and families, but its case management was fragmented across an aging Access database, spreadsheets and paper referral forms. The organisation needed a single system that could migrate existing data, reduce administrative burden and produce the monitoring information required by funders. They selected CiviCRM (deployed on Drupal) to address these challenges.

CiviCRM was implemented to centralise contacts and case management, add online referral and volunteer application forms, and let volunteers submit diary entries directly into the system. As a result, Children North East eliminated paper forms, reduced manual data entry, improved tracking of volunteers and young people, increased the number of volunteer diary entries received and saved significant staff time—delivering better reporting for funders and more efficient programme management via CiviCRM.
