A CiviCRM Case Study
Upstream Public Health, a Portland-based public health advocacy nonprofit, needed to move from a simple, infrequently updated HTML page (with a PayPal donation button and Constant Contact signup) to an editable website that could publish news, process online donations and event registrations, and let staff send bulk mail without incurring an ongoing monthly service fee. They selected CiviCRM (integrated with Drupal) to provide the advocacy and constituent-management features missing from simpler solutions.
Using CiviCRM integrated into their new Drupal site (implemented by three staff, one designer, and Korlon LLC), Upstream Public Health replaced the siloed PayPal/Constant Contact workflow with a single, full-featured online solution. The CiviCRM-powered site now handles online donations, mailing lists, event registration, and content management, and lets staff create and send bulk email without an additional monthly fee—delivering a measurable consolidation of services and greater internal control.
