A CivicConnect Case Study
Civic San Diego, a city-owned nonprofit in San Diego, needed a way to simplify parking access in Downtown San Diego. Multiple public and private parking options were available, but residents, workers, and visitors did not know how to find or use them, and the parking search was contributing to congestion. CivicConnect provided the ParkItDTSD mobile-responsive app to help address that problem.
CivicConnect implemented a platform that ingests, manages, and displays parking assets and data, integrating multiple vendor parking APIs with public and private real-time parking information in one location-based application. The app also included alerts for event parking and road closures, and it was built to support future mobility features. Civic San Diego and CivicConnect launched it with Downtown organizations and major parking operators, creating a community parking initiative that gave people a resource to find parking anytime, anywhere.
