Bechtel, a global engineering and construction company, faced challenges with inefficient surveying processes for its wick drain installations. Their reliance on the traditional string line method was causing delays and workflow impediments at their LNG job sites. To address this, they turned to vendor Civ Robotics and implemented their CivDot+ robotic surveying technology.

The solution from Civ Robotics automated the labor-intensive marking process with millimeter-level accuracy. CivDot+ allowed Bechtel to mark points at a rate of 4 per minute, significantly enhancing operational efficiency and continuity across uneven terrains. This streamlined workflow eliminated the need for manual double-checking and re-staking, saving time and boosting overall productivity on the project, which involved laying out 300,000 points.
