The Colony, Texas, faced a lack of reliable tracking for public works and utilities jobs—while work orders were logged electronically, crews recorded actual work with pen and paper, leading to lost information, slow resident responses, and unclear costs, labor, and materials. To solve this, The Colony implemented the Cityworks platform to centralize work tracking and reporting across Public Works and Utilities.

Cityworks was deployed to track alley, street, sidewalk, curb, water and sewer repairs, and to record assets, costs, labor, equipment, and materials. Since implementation, Cityworks has made staff more efficient, sped resident response times (residents have complimented the quicker service), eliminated communication gaps between crews and administration, and simplified monthly reporting—putting the necessary information at staff’s fingertips.
