A Cityworks Case Study
Taylors Fire and Sewer District, a municipal subdistrict serving about 10,000 parcels in central Greenville County with nearly 130 miles of gravity line and 3,602 manholes, faced a regulatory order to eliminate inflow and infiltration (I/I) from its aging system by 2021. With antiquated analog CCTV records and little empirical data, Taylors needed a way to inspect the entire system, locate problem areas, and plan and budget rehabilitation—so they implemented digital inspection tools alongside the Cityworks/ArcGIS CMMS integrated utilities management package.
Using Cityworks integrated with Pipelogix digital CCTV and GIS, Taylors centralized inspection data, streamlined work orders, and prioritized repairs—enabling crews to locate assets, manage workflow, and comply with 811 safety tickets (more than 200 monthly). The digital solution cut man-hours and data errors, helped the district exceed its annual goal of inspecting eight miles of line, and put the I/I reduction project ahead of schedule to finish by 2020 (a year early). Cityworks was pivotal in consolidating data and improving operational efficiency.
