Case Study: City of Redlands achieves streamlined permitting and faster record access with Cityworks Server PLL

A Cityworks Case Study

Preview of the City of Redlands Case Study

Redlands, California, Implements Cityworks Server PLL

The City of Redlands needed a more efficient way to handle permitting and development across multiple departments, replacing a paper‑based system and an older permitting application. Redlands selected Cityworks Server PLL from Cityworks, extending their existing Cityworks asset management setup to tie permitting, planning, and development workflows together across six divisions (Planning, Engineering, Building & Safety, Utilities, Quality of Life, and Fire).

Cityworks worked with Redlands to model workflows, configure 84 permit types and import 252 fees into the SQL database, create reusable templates, and deliver role‑based training and parallel testing. As a result, all six divisions are now using Cityworks PLL to manage permits and interdepartmental reviews, staff can find records “in moments” instead of searching paper files, and the city benefits from seamless GIS integration and faster, standardized processes.
