General Mitchell International Airport - Customer Case Study

General Mitchell International Airport (MKE) faced outdated, paper-based Part 139 inspection and airfield operations processes and needed a secure, trackable digital system to improve workflows and reporting. MKE implemented Cityworks (Azteca Systems) for asset, inspection and work-order management and pursued FAA approval for an automated self-inspection process.

Cityworks replaced paper logbooks with a map-centric digital work-order and logbook system, enabled mobile access, automatic email notifications and reports, and centralized data distribution so a single entry informs all departments. As a result, MKE eliminated virtually all paperwork, became the nation’s first airport FAA‑certified for an automated Cityworks self-inspection process, reduced staff travel and manual steps, and consolidated multiple legacy systems into the Cityworks hub.
