Cucamonga Valley Water District - Customer Case Study

Cucamonga Valley Water District (CVWD) is a public utility serving over 186,000 customers across a 47‑square‑mile area with about 48,000 water and 37,000 sewer connections. CVWD needed a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) with strong field and GIS capabilities that field crews would actually use, provide real‑time updates, streamline valve maintenance workflows, and reduce paper consumption — and chose Cityworks as their CMMS.

Cityworks was implemented and integrated with iWater’s infraMap so field crews can use laptops to view the map environment, perform valve inspections, and create work orders in real time. The Cityworks solution produced enthusiastic field adoption, a clearer picture of the distribution system, real‑time field updates, and a drastic reduction in paper use—improving maintenance accuracy, workflow efficiency, and supporting CVWD’s green technology goals.
