Cityworks Server PLL Takes the Work Out of Workflow at Eagan, Minnesota

The City of Eagan, Minnesota, was struggling to manage growing permitting workloads—non-compliant permits and repair timelines routinely slipped by months—until it turned to Cityworks. Having already purchased the Cityworks ELA, Eagan implemented Cityworks PLL (Permits, Licensing, Land) alongside its migration to Cityworks Server AMS to gain an end-to-end, integrated permitting and asset management solution.

Cityworks implemented PLL with a February 2011 go‑live, using PLL’s auto-open tasks, auto-email notifications, and AMS integration to manage Right-of-Way and Inflow/Infiltration permitting and to enable public online permit access. The Cityworks solution created a defined, centralized workflow that improved permit tracking, data integrity, response times and enforcement of ordinances, allowed many staff to work concurrently on cases, and freed up time for corrective work rather than manual tracking.
