A Cityworks Case Study
The City of Highland Village, Texas — a small city of about 15,000 residents with limited staff and budget — was struggling with inefficient, spreadsheet-driven field operations and missing work-order data. To solve this, the city implemented Cityworks’ GIS-centric mobile solution, deploying Cityworks Anywhere and Storeroom (later upgraded to Cityworks Server AMS) to give field crews instant access to work orders and asset information.
Cityworks enabled crews to receive and complete work orders in the field, improve data accuracy, group similar tasks for greater efficiency, and manage inventory proactively; the program saved the city more than $60,000 and eliminated the more than 500 previously unaccounted-for work orders identified in a prior audit. With Cityworks, supervisors now have immediate information to respond to residents and planners, improving workflow, budgeting, and overall operational transparency across Public Works and Parks.
