Cityworks Contracts Helps Troy, Michigan Keep Project Costs on Track

The City of Troy, Michigan faced the challenge of organizing and controlling multiple construction and maintenance contracts—starting with a concrete slab replacement program (annual budget just over $3 million)—while needing better expense tracking and faster invoicing. To address this, the city adopted the Cityworks Contracts module as part of the Cityworks Server AMS platform.

Cityworks configured the Contracts module with Troy’s IT and Public Works teams to manage contracts, document contractor details, and track costs in real time. As a result, the city has processed over 5,500 work orders and 11,000 cost activities, managed more than $13 million in repair work, reduced time from work approval to contractor payment, and gained up-to-the-minute expense visibility to avoid budget overruns—demonstrating measurable operational and financial improvements driven by Cityworks.
