A Cityworks Case Study
The City of Weatherford faced fragmented systems and data silos as it consolidated IT and sought to improve cross‑departmental workflows. To create a single, GIS‑centric system of record and engagement, the City of Weatherford implemented Cityworks (including Cityworks AMS, Storeroom, Cityworks Mobile and integrations such as CitySourced/myWeatherford and WinCan–Cityworks).
Cityworks enabled the city to centralize assets, streamline warehouse and field workflows, and integrate inspection and citizen‑reporting tools. After adding Cityworks Storeroom, inventory audit variance improved from –$66,706 to +$3,067 in the first fiscal year; the WinCan–Cityworks integration eliminated roughly an hour of daily data entry for CCTV crews (about 12% of an eight‑hour day); and the myWeatherford app processed 2,000 service requests over four years while reducing manual workload and saving more than $75,000. Cityworks also supported analytics integrations (e.g., PAVER) to prioritize capital projects and improve budgeting and decision‑making.
