City of Racine, Wisconsin, Improves Efficiency in Code Enforcement Case Management

The City of Racine, Wisconsin, needed to modernize and streamline code enforcement and Public Works case management. Cityworks Server PLL (Permits, Licensing, and Land) was deployed alongside the City’s existing Cityworks Server AMS to replace an aging Visual Basic/SQL homegrown system, giving Unified Neighborhood Inspection Team officers web-based, tablet-enabled access to create and manage cases in the field.

Cityworks implemented a GIS-integrated, workflow-driven solution with a custom web invoicing integration tied to the finance system, enabling field data entry, case attachments, and automated invoicing. The Cityworks deployment cut invoice processing from 3–5 minutes to a few seconds (over 1,700 invoice requests processed), centralized DPW processes, reduced paperwork, improved reporting and data accuracy, and delivered clear time savings and ROI.
