City of Port Angeles - Customer Case Study

The City of Port Angeles needed a GIS-integrated asset and maintenance management solution after building a new $30 million water treatment plant, expanding utilities, and creating a new stormwater utility to meet NPDES requirements. Their legacy proprietary work-order system did not link to GIS, so in 2010 the City of Port Angeles implemented Cityworks as a GIS-based AMS to manage growing water and stormwater infrastructure.

Cityworks was deployed across Public Works to manage the water treatment plant, Water Utility and Stormwater Utility, providing centralized asset data, work histories, and maintenance workflows. Cityworks enabled targeted water-main replacements using built-in statistics, improved preventive maintenance for pumps and water quality, and delivered NPDES reporting and permitting support that saved the City valuable time and resources while creating comprehensive records for ongoing plant maintenance.
