A Cityworks Case Study
The City of Gainesville, Florida’s utility, Gainesville Regional Utilities (GRU), needed a scalable, cross-departmental system to modernize maintenance processes, improve field data accuracy, and track capital projects across electric, gas, water/wastewater and fiber operations. GRU chose Cityworks, implementing Server AMS and beginning deployment of Server PLL, to replace outdated manual workflows and support expanding digital asset and project management.
Cityworks rolled out Server AMS across Water/Wastewater, Fiber, Gas and Electric and is deploying Server PLL for permitting, licensing and project tracking in Electric Engineering. The platform generated more than 19,000 streetlight maintenance tickets in roughly four years, improved work visualization, KPI tracking, and maintenance-cycle planning, and gave GRU more accurate field data to adjust operations; GRU now plans to extend Cityworks to public works and general government and pursue a site license to further streamline processes.
