City of Chattanooga - Customer Case Study

The City of Chattanooga’s Department of Public Works needed a better way to track labor and equipment costs and reduce manual hours spent gathering data across services from brush pickup to roads, stormwater, and sewer maintenance. After researching options, the City of Chattanooga implemented Cityworks to centralize service requests, asset information, and GIS-driven workflows.

Using Cityworks, Chattanooga automated reporting and service-routing so staff can quickly create work orders, transfer issues between divisions, and attach facility IDs and photos for auditing and accountability. Cityworks’ GIS capabilities enabled preventive maintenance planning, area- and date-based damage assessments during major weather events, and scheduling that reduced redundant trips and improved productivity; the system also provides tracking numbers and reports for management review. The city now plans to move to Cityworks Server and extend Cityworks into Parks and Recreation.
