Central Arkansas Water Uses Cityworks Expansively in the Field

Central Arkansas Water (CAW), a metropolitan water utility serving about 400,000 customers across five counties, needed to keep critical asset-management data current in the field, replace paper-based workflows, and meet EPA/EUM reporting requirements. To address this, CAW adopted Cityworks—integrated with their Esri geodatabase—to manage both linear and vertical assets from a single, centralized database.

Using Cityworks, CAW deployed more than 60 field users on laptops and transitioned to a nearly 100% digital work-order process; Cityworks provides asset-level work-order cost tracking, APIs for online customer reporting, and Designer for configuration, and CAW plans to expand with Server AMS and JSON integration to enQuesta. The Cityworks implementation produced a virtually paperless operation, simplified EUM reporting, enabled automated preventive maintenance, improved scheduling and inventory management, and delivered measurable analytics (e.g., leaks per mile, water-quality complaints) to support capital planning.
