Greenwood Metropolitan District (GMD), a special purpose district providing sewer services in Greenwood County, SC, faced slow, manual CCTV inspection workflows and fragmented data across multiple satellite systems. GMD chose Cityworks as its core system for its tight GIS integration and sought to eliminate redundant information and communication problems by bringing its CCTV system (ITPipes) into a single, integrated platform.

Cityworks implemented an ITPipes–Cityworks integration (using ITPipes Sync and Integration modules) so work orders are created and scheduled in Cityworks, synced to CCTV vehicles via a SmartTab, and automatically synced back with inspection videos and data the same day. The Cityworks solution (including Cityworks Analytics) eliminated weekly manual downloads, removed the need to transfer hard drives, made previously delayed inspection data immediately available, and allowed streaming video and cost tracking — replacing a process that required checking roughly 150 inspections per day with an automated, more efficient workflow.
