VFLI improves WAN speed, reliability, and cost with Citrix

VFLI, a subsidiary of SNCF that manages 70 rail and logistics sites, struggled with a WAN built on costly, hard-to-scale MPLS lines while more applications moved to the cloud (Office 365 and AWS). Centralizing traffic through the data center made provisioning new sites slow and restrictive, creating a clear need to improve performance and reduce reliance on MPLS.

VFLI deployed Citrix SD-WAN to prioritize and aggregate MPLS and public internet links and virtualized appliances in AWS, simplifying management and routing traffic over the best available connection. Rolled out to 18 sites so far, the solution enabled record-fast site setups (a new Rouen site in two weeks using 4G), raised speeds from 8 Mbps to 100 Mbps (and from 2 Mbps to 13 Mbps on difficult sites), and delivered greater reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
