Case Study: European food group Vandemoortele achieves rapid acquisition integration and standardized, scalable IT with Citrix

A Citrix Case Study

Vandemoortele - Customer Case Study

Vandemoortele is a leading European food manufacturer that faced a fragmented, hardware-dependent IT estate spread across factories and offices, which slowed integration of acquired businesses and deployment of applications. The company needed a flexible, scalable solution to standardize desktops and apps and dramatically shorten the time required to bring newly acquired sites into the group.

Working with RealDolmen, Vandemoortele centralized data in two redundant datacenters and implemented a Citrix virtualization stack (XenDesktop/XenServer, Access Gateway, provisioning services and EdgeSight) to deliver about 115 applications to roughly 1,600 desktops. The result: application rollout times dropped from more than a year to under a month, IT integration of new factories can be completed within eight months, standardization accelerated, and IT headcount did not need to grow while regulatory and operational responsiveness improved.
