Case Study: Action for Children achieves more face time with vulnerable children and families with Citrix Workspace

A Citrix Case Study

Preview of the Action for Children Case Study

UK charity uses Citrix Workspace Suite to increase time spent with vulnerable children and families

Action for Children is a UK charity supporting more than 300,000 children, families and young people through fostering, adoption, residential services and outreach across 400+ locations. Its workforce was constrained by aging Windows XP desktops, paper-based casework, long travel to offices to secure sensitive files, and limited Wi‑Fi — all of which reduced time staff could spend with vulnerable children and families and made secure collaboration with partners difficult.

CDW implemented a Citrix Workspace solution (XenDesktop, XenMobile, NetScaler and ShareFile), deploying 3,000 thin clients, 2,000 Dell tablets and Wi‑Fi across hundreds of sites so staff can securely access hosted desktops and case files from any device. The result: fewer return visits and less travel, more face time with children, safer information sharing with partner agencies, better access to online resources in centres, and a transformational improvement in efficiency and security.
