A Citrix Case Study
Yahoo Japan, a Tokyo‑headquartered web services provider reaching over 47 million monthly users with 100+ services, needed to accelerate service development and improve operational efficiency as it moved from traditional IaaS virtual servers toward CaaS/PaaS and a serverless approach. The company sought a platform that could support rapid change, reduce development time, and simplify operations.
To meet this, Yahoo Japan implemented Citrix Application Delivery Management (ADM) and Citrix Application Delivery Controller (ADC) as an OpenStack LBaaS integration platform for its new CaaS environment, bringing the system into production in August 2018 and fine‑tuning it with vendor support. The deployment increased performance and speed of new service development, reduced development and operational man‑hours and costs, improved system stability, and freed resources for network design and R&D, with plans to centralize management and adopt more microservices-driven workflows.
