Case Study: The Messenger achieves secure, high-performance branch and mobile access with Citrix XenApp, XenDesktop and NetScaler

A Citrix Case Study

Preview of the The Messenger Case Study

The Messenger supports the work of regional branch offices and mobile users through Citrix Solution

The Messenger, founded in 1995, is a fast-growing Russian mobile retail chain with roughly 25% market share and thousands of stores nationwide. Rapid expansion, a geographically dispersed workforce (central office plus regional branches and mobile staff), a BYOD policy and centralized data centers in Moscow created high IT maintenance costs, routine OS/application management overhead, and performance limits on bandwidth-constrained links.

To address this, The Messenger deployed Citrix XenApp for application delivery, added Citrix XenDesktop for virtual desktops and uses four Citrix NetScaler devices for load balancing and traffic control, all on Platinum editions. The rollout supports ~3,700 workstations, enables secure BYOD access, improves performance over poor links, centralizes administration to lower maintenance and strengthen security, and has freed IT to manage the environment internally while planning further NetScaler and firewall enhancements.
