A Citrix Case Study
Wertheimer Group, a regional market leader in building materials with about 1,000 employees across 23 locations, had centralized and virtualized its IT but faced severe WAN performance issues. Graphic‑intensive applications, video training and large print jobs over an aging MPLS network made branch users wait and the provider was inflexible and costly to expand.
To fix this, Wertheimer piloted Citrix SD‑WAN with partner Makro Factory, aggregating MPLS, DSL and LTE into a virtual WAN and turning backup lines into active bandwidth while adding monitoring and QoS. The result: markedly faster application and print performance, seamless failover during outages, freed-up MPLS capacity (and the potential to avoid costly MPLS expansion), and a rollout to all sites to support better digital services and guest Wi‑Fi.
