A Citrix Case Study
The British Library, one of the world’s leading research libraries caring for over 150 million items, needed to support flexible, productive working while complying with UK Central Government data-security policies. IT leadership wanted to “say yes” to staff using their own smartphones and tablets for email and calendars, but faced the challenge of enabling a wide range of personally owned devices without compromising security or increasing support burden.
They deployed Citrix XenMobile MDM (with Citrix Professional Services for fast implementation), ran an internal proof of concept, rolled out acceptable-use policies, and kept management simple so users could self-install. The result: secure, compliant access to corporate email and calendars across iOS, Android and other platforms; simpler administration and compliance reporting; enthusiastic user feedback; and an expected reduction in corporate-issued devices plus a scalable platform for future mobile apps.
