SÜDVERS Group, a major independent financial services provider in Germany with 357 employees across 14 locations, faced growing complexity in managing a wide range of specialist insurance and back-office applications. Traditional PC-based software distribution was error-prone and slow over the WAN, so as part of a Windows 7/Office 2010 migration the company sought a centralized, more flexible desktop and application management approach to support branch, home and mobile users.

Working with Macro Factory, SÜDVERS deployed a Citrix-based solution (XenDesktop, NetScaler, Provisioning Services) to deliver a centrally provisioned standard desktop to thin clients, secure SSL VPN access for remote users, and single-image application updates. The change boosted application performance and response times, reduced administrative effort, simplified updates, enabled secure remote and mobile access, and positioned the company for encrypted offline VDI and a managed BYOD rollout.
