Stoas Learning improves IT efficiency and customer service levels with virtualization

Stoas Learning is a Netherlands-based knowledge center for education and e‑learning with about 125 employees. As customer‑specific physical servers proliferated into a large virtual estate, the environment became complex, SAN resources were overloaded, and there was little redundancy or centralized management—so the company needed to consolidate, simplify administration, and raise service levels and availability for hosted customers.

Stoas implemented Citrix XenServer Enterprise on Dell PowerEdge hosts with a Dell EqualLogic SAN (deployed with guidance from 2-Systems) and uses XenCenter/StorageLink for unified management and XenMotion for live migration. The environment now supports more than 400 workloads across an expanded host fleet, enabling centralized, efficient administration, high availability, rapid provisioning (minutes vs. weeks), better performance and security, and the ability to serve more customers with the same IT staff.
