Standard Bank secures a mobile workforce

Standard Bank, Africa’s largest bank with 1,300 branches, 9,300 ATMs, 49,000 staff and 15.5 million customers, needed to enable a more mobile workforce while protecting sensitive data. Remote access had more than doubled and many employees were using personal devices across countries with patchy 3G and slow 64–128 kbps links, so the bank required a secure, easily integrated enterprise mobility solution that allowed local editing of email attachments.

Standard Bank deployed Citrix XenMobile Enterprise (MDM + MAM) with ShareFile, integrated with its existing XenDesktop/XenApp infrastructure and 10,000 licenses for secure email, web and virtualized apps on both personal and corporate devices. The solution secured corporate information (including remote wipe), improved productivity even on poor networks, made ShareFile the approved mobile document-sharing platform, and enabled field staff to work more effectively—with further virtualization rollouts planned.
