Skånetrafiken delivers a better online experience with Citrix

Skånetrafiken, the public-transport authority for Sweden’s Skåne County, needed to modernize its website and IT infrastructure so travelers could plan journeys, buy tickets and get real‑time updates online. The legacy load‑balancing and back‑end systems could not cope with rising traffic, peak surges or the need to integrate with on‑premises CRM and legacy systems.

By deploying Citrix NetScaler appliances and a hybrid cloud approach on Microsoft Azure, Skånetrafiken achieved scalable load balancing, stronger security and seamless cloud-to-on‑prem integration. The new platform reliably handles about 4,000,000 requests per day, enables online ticketing, mobile app services, automated refunds and CRM-driven webchat, and gives staff secure remote access—improving availability, security and operational productivity.
