Secure applications for mobile workstations and pharmaceutical processes

Vetter is a global pharmaceutical contract manufacturer that must meet strict CGMP validation and security requirements across its labs, production lines and growing mobile workforce. Rapid growth and stringent regulations made updating and validating many control computers and supporting about 250 company iOS devices challenging, while users still needed convenient access to apps, training and corporate data without compromising compliance.

Vetter deployed Citrix XenApp to centralize and virtualize applications, Citrix XenMobile (with NetScaler) to manage devices, apps and secure Micro‑VPNs, and Citrix ShareFile for in‑house file sync. The result: fewer revalidations and simpler updates, fast rollout of thin clients to about 1,000 production users, secure containerized mobile apps with selective data access and remote wipe, and a compliant, scalable platform for future mobile use in production.
