School district improves user experience and reduces costs with Citrix XenDesktop and Citrix NetScaler

Maine Township High School District 207, which serves 6,500 students across four high schools, wanted a fast, reliable and consistent technology experience that worked on any device. After deploying Chromebooks and Google Apps for students, the district faced the challenge of giving 700 faculty members the same ubiquitous access while also supporting Windows‑based applications, reducing downtime and lowering device and support costs.

The district implemented Citrix XenDesktop and NetScaler with Citrix Receiver for Chrome, integrating closely with Google to deliver Windows apps and Google Drive access from Chromebooks. The solution was piloted and rolled out in under three months and on budget; teachers now boot Chromebooks in under a minute, access apps remotely, and benefit from a more reliable, easier‑to‑support environment that cuts device and support costs and frees IT to focus on training and innovation.
