Case Study: Qatar Gas Transport Company (Nakilat) achieves secure, cost-effective global access for its LNG fleet with Citrix

A Citrix Case Study

Preview of the Nakilat Case Study

Qatar Gas Transport Company connects locations, partners, and ships with Citrix

Qatar Gas Transport Company (Nakilat) operates one of the world’s largest LNG fleets and a complex mix of wholly owned and joint‑venture maritime businesses. After consolidating IT into a single organisation, Nakilat needed secure, reliable global access to applications and data for international offices, joint‑venture partners and ships at sea—despite low‑bandwidth satellite links and a hybrid mix of cloud and on‑premises systems.

Working with Fujitsu, Nakilat deployed SAP HANA on a hybrid Azure/on‑premises platform and used Citrix NetScaler and XenApp to virtualise and securely publish apps and data. The solution gives partners controlled access to SAP inventory (reducing over‑stocking and ship idle time), provides consistent device access for employees, supports offline/low‑bandwidth vessel use, and has halved annual IT investment while reducing management overhead and improving user satisfaction.
