Porsche Informatik accelerates application delivery with Citrix technology

Porsche Informatik, the IT subsidiary of Porsche Holding Salzburg, centralizes and operates more than 160 business and web applications for about 10,000 users across 20 countries. The company needed to ensure fast, secure access to those applications, scale rising web traffic, protect sensitive data on potentially insecure client devices, and guarantee high availability for international sites and backend systems.

Porsche Informatik implemented a Citrix-based solution—centralizing apps on a XenApp server farm and deploying Citrix NetScaler MPX appliances for SSL offload, web optimization and advanced load balancing, plus Citrix Provisioning Services for rapid virtualized XenApp management. The result: consistent, secure access to applications across 20 countries, improved web performance and backend relief, simplified certificate and update management, reduced hardware needs, and higher overall availability.
