Oman’s largest bank extends secure and robust banking applications

Bank Musat, Oman's largest bank with 149 branches serving a widely dispersed population, faced challenges maintaining PC‑based treasury, payments and risk‑analysis applications across slow or remote links, which led to frequent on‑site support, inconsistent software versions and strict security and compliance concerns.

By deploying Citrix XenApp alongside NetScaler and XenMobile, the bank centralised and virtualised 85 applications for 2,500 branch users and 300 international staff, enabling secure remote access, faster issue resolution from the data centre, and support for advanced features such as biometric authentication. The rollout delivered reliable performance over low‑bandwidth connections, met stringent security requirements, reduced travel and downtime, and improved staff engagement through efficient video and e‑learning delivery.
