Northampton University leads learning revolution with Citrix

Northampton University redesigned learning around its Active Blended Learning model at the new Waterside Campus, but faced a challenge: many courses require resource‑heavy, high‑end software and traditional dedicated labs led to inflexible timetabling, under‑ and over‑utilised workstations, and a heavy software‑management burden.

Working with XMA, the university deployed Citrix Workspace to deliver centrally managed virtual desktops and apps to any device. The solution gave 13,000 students and 2,000 staff secure, anywhere access to high‑end software, simplified asset and patch management, improved license and space utilisation, and enabled the mobility and collaborative learning central to Northampton’s digital‑leader ambitions.
