NetScaler reduces expenses with datacenter consolidation

Tripnet, a Gothenburg-based Infrastructure-as-a-Service provider operating from three datacenters and serving retailers, gaming and payment customers across Scandinavia, needed to replace a fragmented set of load‑balancing solutions (F5 BIG‑IP, Microsoft NLB and an older NetScaler) with a single, feature-rich application delivery platform. The goal was centralized SSL offload, content switching, compression and caching with on‑demand scalability, stronger multitenancy and lower capital and operating costs.

Tripnet deployed Citrix NetScaler SDX 11500 in an HA pair with multiple NetScaler VPX instances, consolidating its load‑balancing estate onto one platform. The move simplified management, cut capital and support costs, reduced rack space and power needs, provided per‑customer virtual isolation and enabled new on‑demand services—helping both Tripnet and its customers save money while leaving room to add features like GSLB, AppFirewall and CloudBridge.
