Case Study: Mydin Mohamed Holdings achieves scalable, on-demand application delivery and rapid ROI with Citrix

A Citrix Case Study

Preview of the Mydin Mohamed Holdings Case Study

Mydin efficiently scaled its infrastructure and delivers applications on demand

Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad, Malaysia’s largest retailer with 55 outlets, 6,500 employees and roughly US$480M in annual sales, needed a more robust and scalable IT platform to roll out a centralized ERP and support rapid store expansion, remote branches with limited bandwidth, and better server utilization. Delivering applications consistently to multiple locations and simplifying desktop management for largely non‑technical users were key challenges.

Mydin implemented a Citrix-based virtual infrastructure (XenApp, XenServer, XenDesktop, Access Gateway and Branch Repeater) to centralize apps, convert branch PCs to thin clients and optimize bandwidth. The rollout enabled secure, anytime/anywhere access for over 500 key personnel, slashed patch deployment from 120 man‑hours to 15 minutes, delivered ROI within two months, uncovered $50,000 in supplier errors, and materially reduced server footprint, energy use and future hardware costs while allowing rapid scale-up as the business grows.
