Municipalities raise mobile security to the next level with XenMobile and Share File

Equalit ICT Shared Service Centre, set up by the municipality of Oosterhout, provides shared IT services for nine municipalities and more than 2,300 users in the Environment Department of Central and West Brabant. Faced with a mix of employer‑issued and personal smartphones and tablets, Equalit needed to secure municipal data and provide mobile access and editing without forcing management of employees’ private devices or relying on consumer file‑sharing services like Dropbox.

Equalit implemented Citrix XenMobile and ShareFile with POR to deliver Mobile Application Management and on‑premises cloud access, keeping data in the organization’s data center while leaving personal devices unmanaged. Using Worx apps and NetScaler appliances for scale, the solution eliminated the need for Dropbox, enabled secure access to departmental disks, supported remote wipe of containerized data, and simplified cross‑municipality access for thousands of users — delivering the required security and user convenience.
