Movistar Chile, part of the Telefónica Group, provides TV, business communications and mobile services to millions of customers and grew rapidly after acquiring BellSouth. The merger left the company with heterogeneous IT platforms, high support costs and a need to maintain operations, protect customer data and meet strict response-time and security requirements—compounded by high call‑center staff turnover.

Movistar consolidated its infrastructure on Citrix virtualization and delivery solutions (XenDesktop, XenServer, XenApp, NetScaler, Branch Repeater and related tools), adding centralized administration, single sign‑on, Smart Auditor traceability and policy‑based access controls. The result was a consistent high‑performance user experience for over 100 applications across branches, stronger security and fraud detection, lower support overhead, a cloud‑ready platform and a repeatable model for rolling the solution out across Latin America.
