A Citrix Case Study
MISC Berhad, founded in 1968, is Malaysia’s leading integrated maritime, heavy engineering and logistics services provider and one of the world’s largest shipping companies by market capitalization. Rapid growth had left the company with a complex, aging IT estate—many production servers, high international leased-line costs, fragmented application identities and no formal business continuity plan—driving up operating costs and limiting global access to critical systems.
MISC consolidated and virtualized its environment using Citrix XenApp, XenServer and Access Gateway in a two‑phase deployment with systems integrator iPerintis. The project reduced production servers from 59 to 11, cut annual server management costs by about 80% and lowered bandwidth costs by roughly 10%, while delivering improved application availability, single sign‑on, reduced leased‑line use and stronger disaster recovery and business continuity.
