Merit Corporation, which includes CMA CGM and a group of trucking, logistics, freight‑forwarding, insurance and travel companies across Lebanon and the Middle East, faced a fragmented, aging IT estate. Systems were siloed, saturated and at capacity, and a small six‑person IT team struggled to support distributed offices and secure mobile workers who were routinely carrying sensitive documents on laptops.
Merit rebuilt its server and desktop architecture and, with Citrix Gold partner Procomix, deployed Citrix XenApp to virtualize apps and desktops from the datacenter. The change centralized and secured data (no documents on laptops, full backups), cut workstation costs by half and reduced provisioning time to under 10% of previous levels, extended the life of old PCs as thin clients, simplified support, and freed IT to focus on innovation and new revenue opportunities.
