Lund University - Customer Case Study

Lund University, one of Sweden’s largest and most reputable universities with 47,000 students and 7,200 employees, needed a more modern, user‑friendly IT workplace to attract top staff and students. The existing environment was hardware‑dependent, labor‑intensive and struggled to meet rising expectations for mobility, easy access to applications and documents, and streamlined management.

Working with Citrix and its in‑house supplier LDC, Lund implemented a Citrix-based solution—published applications and virtual desktops using XenApp, Provisioning Services and XenServer, plus NetScaler and Receiver/Web Interface—decoupling services from physical hardware. The deployment created a scalable, future‑proof platform that reduced operational effort and hardware dependency while improving mobility, accessibility and flexibility for users, delivering a more efficient and attractive IT workplace.
