LeasePlan looks to embrace the cloud for a more mobile future

LeasePlan, the world’s largest automotive fleet management company with 1.3 million vehicles and operations in over 30 countries, tasked its IT arm LeasePlan Information Services with consolidating disparate office IT into a centralised, more mobile platform. The goal was to reduce cost and complexity, capture untapped data, improve productivity and enable secure, flexible access for a growing global workforce with minimal business disruption.

Working with Zinopy and Citrix technologies (XenApp, NetScaler, NetScaler Gateway and Citrix Receiver), LeasePlan moved back-end servers into two Dublin datacentres and rolled out virtual desktops accessible on any device. The solution delivered secure enterprise mobility and business continuity, standardized access to 2,000+ applications, cut deployment time for new offices, and is running across 19 sites with ~2,900 users (1,200 more planned), producing estimated savings of about €40,000 per group office per year while a six-person IT team now supports the global user base.
