Case Study: Bauli achieves simplified application management and secure mobile access with Citrix

A Citrix Case Study

Preview of the Bauli Case Study

Leading panettone producer Bauli beats complexity with Citrix solutions

Bauli S.p.A., a century-old Italian bakery group that sells millions of panettones, pandoros and croissants annually, grew rapidly through acquisitions to four manufacturing sites and 27 distribution centres. That expansion created a complex, hard-to-manage IT estate with difficult application installs and updates at remote depots, high network traffic from PC-based access, and rising demand for mobile working that was expensive and hard to secure.

Working with a Citrix partner, Bauli virtualised and centrally managed all applications using XenDesktop/XenApp, deployed Praim thin clients and XenMobile, and used NetScaler for secure remote access. The result: simplified IT with standardised desktop images, rapid onboarding of acquired employees, drastically reduced network traffic so depots can run on standard broadband, access to resource-intensive apps like SAP HANA across all sites, and secure, role‑based mobile access with no business data stored on devices—improving productivity and enabling further expansion.
