Case Study: Siegwerk achieves major connectivity cost savings and faster SAP performance with Citrix CloudBridge

A Citrix Case Study

Preview of the Siegwerk Case Study

Leading global ink supplier uses Citrix CloudBridge to cut connectivity costs, optimize bandwidth utilization and increase software performance

Siegwerk, a global ink manufacturer headquartered in Germany with 70 locations and 4,600 employees, was struggling with slow SAP ERP performance across its wide area network, which relied on low-bandwidth links (1–4 Mbps) between sites and two datacenters. After the SAP rollout users experienced sluggish response times and attempts to prioritize traffic further harmed application responsiveness.

Siegwerk implemented Citrix CloudBridge (now NetScaler SD‑WAN) to accelerate, optimize and prioritize WAN traffic, with Citrix Services providing rapid troubleshooting. The deployment delivered throughput in Jakarta comparable to a 4–10 Mbps link on a 2 Mbps circuit, generated €10–12k/year savings at that site and projected €200–250k annually enterprise-wide, and noticeably improved SAP responsiveness for about 1,500 users while enabling faster training file transfers.
