Large Healthcare Organization Optimizes Communication with Citrix

CareOregon is a nonprofit health plan serving about 200,000 Medicaid and Medicare members in Oregon with a strong focus on IT innovation. While delivering Windows desktops via Citrix XenDesktop, the organization faced a legacy unified communications setup with limited conferencing, slow screen updates and aging telephony hardware, prompting a search for a cloud-friendly replacement.

CareOregon moved to Skype for Business Online on Office 365 with an Azure backend and implemented the Citrix HDX RealTime Optimization Pack to centralize the Skype client, offload voice/video to endpoints and resolve driver/VDI issues. The solution now supports over 600 users for voice and messaging and 100+ for video, improved user experience, smoother Windows 10 migration, and secure anywhere access with modern headsets and cameras.
